Since our inception in 1953, we’ve been on a mission to uplift and empower individuals by addressing their most pressing needs. Our organization is built on the principles of justice, unity, generosity, and service, guiding every initiative we undertake. With chapters across the U.S. and the Bahamas, we work together to create meaningful, lasting change. Our commitment to service is reflected in our diverse programs aimed at education, health, and community development.

Justice, Unity, Generosity, Service, International (J.U.G.S.) was founded in Memphis, Tennessee in February 1953 by Josephine Johnson Bridges and Sarah McKinnie Chandler. The purpose of the organization is to promote the welfare and educational opportunities of children – through philanthropic and charitable services as well as through partnership with individuals in our communities and the corporate sector. JUGS International, Inc. is an international 501(c)3 organization with 69 years of community service history. Each chapter has a recognized not-for-profit status within their community.
Currently, there are six chapters of Justice, Unity, Generosity, and Service
International, Incorporated. They are:
JUGS, Int’l, Inc is an organization of dynamic Black women across America, making an impact on their respective communities. Members are women with similar interest, backgrounds and lifestyles. They are motivated and joined by a desire to share their time, talents and interests in civic, educational and social activities. Most importantly, they are dedicated to improving the plight of children and uplifting the educational aspirations of young people.
